Wood Carving Training Gallery
Nuristani wood carving is a distinctive cultural tradition with deep historical roots, known for its symbolic forms, strong identity, and refined craftsmanship. For centuries, carving served as a visual language—carrying stories, meanings, and community memory.
At JVTC, trainees learn core carving techniques and the key design families associated with Nuristani traditions. Over six months, apprentices progress from basic patterns to applied carving for furniture elements, panels, doors, and decorative features, preserving a rare craft while building employable skills.
